DK 230

The NortheK DK 230 is a Dall Kirkham telescope. This scheme allows an easy use of the surfaces, the focal ratio of f 12 gives a long but not excessive focal length very suitable for direct viewing.

The excellence of NortheK engineering has provided a compact tube lenght of 700 mm and a low weight of 12 Kg in this telescope. Taken together these two  features are why we call it the “ultraportable”. This instrument is ideal for people on the move or with restricted space to observe.

Despite the limitations due to its scheme and the focal ratio, this is still a multitasking instrument and will provide satisfaction even for experienced users.

Description

The NortheK DK 230 is a entry level but still high quality reflector telescope. It uses the Dall Kirkham  optical scheme which involves a parabolic primary and a convex spherical secondary mirrors. It aims a universal use in not too long observation fields.

In this price range there is a lot of competition from other brands and manufacturers. But by  supplying an excellent quality at a competitive price NortheK never compromise on the value  for money! We believe there are no other telescope available at the same cost that offers matching quality and features.

The telescope tube is obtained from a 10 mm thick Anticorodal 6060 extrusion. This is  machined and drilled with special tools and jigs in order to get perfect orthogonal axis to ensure the absence of any bending and distortion of the optical tube.

The carbon version is built with a high module laminated carbon fiber tube, protected by two headers in aluminum alloy, this has drastically reduced the final weight of the instrument.

The mirror cell has six floating points and is based on a ring and plate structure with three side supports at 120 degrees. This is necessarily simplified compared to  the superb StabilobloK 25  as it must stay within the price budget, but it has been made with precision and thoroughly  tested without compromising the performance.

Three rear fans of 60 mm diameter allow the telescope to achieve the thermal equilibrium within less than half an hour.

The focuser provided is the fabulous 2″ Feather Touch whit all tis special accessories.
